Apartment Living + West-Nile Redux

Apartment Living + West-Nile Redux winds it way through ideas surrounding notions of the disaster (death, excess, absorption), from the personal to the political, aesthetic to an-aesthetic: all within the same 500 square foot radius. At its core, Apartment Living + West-Nile Redux is a sad and comical examination of the multi-dimensional nature of mortality and the ease with which death seems prepared to creep up on us at any time with total indifference and little warning. The human and animal body in all its frailty is brought to the fore, as the debris of daily life takes on increased significance, capable as these fragments (flotsam and jetsam) always are of addressing the body’s capacity for illness and disrepair. Paranoid observations and then finally acceptance regarding an ever impending disaster all culminate in Apartment Living + West-Nile Redux to suggest that despite the illusions which tell us otherwise, it is possible that we are just dead already.
